Birdsong and Blossom Fair - Yay Spring has Sprung!

Well our Birdsong and Blossom Craft Fair is over, having had a wonderful turn out of 1000 people through the doors to sample the delightful crafts on offer, the wonderful live music provided by Detor and the general bonhomie. It was fantastic I am continually blown away by the fantastic support and excitement from Customers towards the talented makers showcased at our fairs. This fair was no exception. Visitors and Vendors alike, ensured that our Birdsong and Blossom fair was a rip roaring success. Thanks to you all, here are your best bits ................

March Cr'After Dark - Jo White of Saints and Pinners.co.uk gorgeous Suffolk Puff Necklace

March Cr'After Dark was really memorable. I got to bring my entire (vast) collection of lovely fabrics along, to make a beautiful suffolk puff (fabric YoYo) necklace. Being a knitter/crocheter and not a sewing genius, I really thought i might be a hopeless case to teach fabric yoyo's to. To my delight, I not only enjoyed the night immensely but found them really easy to do. I chose a beautiful liberty print in Navy and Pink, made to celebrate the Quilt Exhibition at the V&A in 2010. What a fabulous night! I have posted a small selection of some of the gorgeous makes on the night. Check out Jo's Blog at http://www.saintsandpinners.co.uk/blog/?m=201008 for a guide on how to make the necklace and check out the gorgeous fabrics she and Fran have in stock! http://www.saintsandpinners.co.uk

Cr'After Dark February 2011

Kate McCully aided by her trusty hoard of funky socks and wonderful buttons, came along to teach us how to make Love inspired Sock Monsters, what a great night. 28 of us gathered in the pub for the Lovebug Monster Make, a cosy pub night in February to keep us going till the springtime looms. Here are a few of our finished monsters.

A Crafty Cuddle

The Craft Hub was very fortunate indeed to have a stand at the recent "Craft 4 Crafters" event at Westpoint. We created a snug, little colourful oasis to spread the love of The Craft Hub to all who would listen. What a great few days we had - we met oodles of lovely people all passionate about crafting.

One thing that is just so lovely about creative people is that we all love to talk to one another about crafting and inevitably the conversation meanders into all aspects of life. There must be something about making and creating that brings out the cuddlier sides of ourselves. Suddenly people have smiles on their faces, they want to stop for a chat, lots of laughter injected and Craft 4 Crafters certainly demonstrated this phenomenon in spades. It really was no hardship at all helping to man The Craft Hub stand.

As usual, Pip (you gotta love that girl!), brought the contents of her house with the exception of the kitchen sink and it looked like a very colourful and cheery sitting room. It was inviting and clamoured to all to stop by for a chat which of course many did. What a lovely bunch of people we had the pleasure of meeting. As always deeply humbled by the fantastic feedback about what we are trying to achieve - we hope 2011 will be another creative year. Certainly the enthusiasm has not diminished, if anything it has increased.
