Jenniflower - A little peak into this wonderful shop

Exeter is oft criticised for its limited independent shops.  However there are some real gems in Central Exeter and beyond.  Christmas Craft Jam 2012 is sponsored by one of the most beautiful gems in the box. Jenniflower is one of Exeter's shining lights, mixing beautiful floral design with exquisite gift ideas, the shop is full of gorgeous things.  Soaps,  organic candles,  ornaments, vintage china and,  of course,   awe inspiring floral design.  Jenny Stones the owner of Jenniflower is holding a great big, fabulous, happy and positive closing down sale in January 2013.  The shop will go out with a bang!  Jenniflower is sponsoring the Christmas Craft Jam 2012 at Exeter Castle and will be there with all these gorgeous things.  Don't miss xx

Oh dear having not posted for a good few months, we are back with a vengeance!!

Christmas Craft Jam @ The Castle is our biggest and most established fair yet.  Full to the brim of talented designer makers based in the South West.

Exeter Castle is an amazing venue, all roccoco mirrors,  white walls,  and atmosphere.  It is the old courthouse for Exeter, still retaining some of the original features from the Court rooms.

Pictures of Exeter castle to follow  www.exetercastle.co.uk have a peek xx

The handmakers we have on offer at the fair are mind blowing!  here is a little taster collage of gorgeous products for sale on the day x

Craft Jam April 2012 - Printmaking with Lisa Purchase

Another fantastic evening of creative fun.  Lisa Purchase, local printmaker in Exeter came to teach.  25 in number, we were kept busy all evening, forming print creations in all sorts of different ways.  I had no idea there was so many different ways to acheive gorgeous prints.  It is such a simple technique with such rich rewards!  We did linoprints with discarded pizza wrap bases,  collagraph printing which involved layering to form a picture for printing and using pieces of embossed wallpaper.  The designs were amazing.  For some, it was the first time ever doing printmaking and for others,  the first time they had done it since Art college.  Everyone, came away with some amazing stuff and with the enthusiasm to try more in the future.  Pictures to follow

Birdsong & Blossom Craft Fair

Our 2012 Spring Craft fair was a feast for the all of the senses. The smells came from the delicious coffee in the Matthews Hall Café, where they tailor the menu to our fair themes & offer a wonderful first impression to our visitors. Then came the tastes of 'Kiss & Bake up' s delicious artistic creations. Sarah Downham serves up Customer favourites , alongside innovative cakey creations, such as the cake in a tube & lolly spoons. We delight the ears with an ecclectic mix of world tunes drifting across the hall. The eyes are richly rewarded with the stunning displays on offer, from the sweetie 'Feltfolk' stall to the backlit glass creations of Amy Orange Juice. At last comes the touch, with all stall holders being very friendly & happy for they customers to explore their handmade goods in a tactile way. Here follows some photos of the tables and gorgeous creations. We had Lisa Higgs face painting the children who came. Our raffle raised nearly £100 all for the charity 'Refuge' thanks to the generosity of our vendors, who kindly donated goods to help raise the money. Thanks so much for coming along and sharing in our Spring Spirit. Wishing you all a Happy Easter! Hannah & Pip

Craft Jam March 2012 - Origami

Kat Thomas the paper florist came along to teach this wonderful ancient Japanese Art. She taught us several projects on the night. The Tulip, Lily, Love Heart and Peace Crane. It was quite frankly, so utterly satisfying to make such gorgeous eye popping things with just a piece of paper. Kat brought along all sorts of papers, proper origami papers to the papers of an old childrens' illustrated book. Above, are some of the delights we got up to on the night x

Craft Jam February 2012 - Multi Media Hearts

Craft Jam went all lovey dovey for February's Craft night, what better than to sit down amongst friends, chat, drink and make hearts. We spread the love with crochet heart garlands, rag wreath hearts (a lovely project for all that scrap fabric with which you just don't know what to do). There were some amazing colour combinations! Last, but not least, button wire hearts, a quick and very satisfying make. The folks who came to January's crochet night, mainly opted to work on their blossoming crochet skills making the love heart garlands. Here are some of our Ta-Da's
